I’ve been watching talking heads “explain” the election results for days now.

I get the impression that Michael Moore and I were the only living Americans who knew the election was coming soon. I know that’s not true, but in the alternate universe of made-up “news” it’s fake reality. So, as one of only two unofficial living Americans who knew the election was near, I suppose I should share how I came to such an “ingenious” conclusion.

How I knew the election would be near.

1. I knew the election would be near because the reason an incumbent president’s party almost always loses seats in Congress in the first interim term after his election is (drumroll, trumpet fanfare)

Why supporters of the president are still coasting on the good feelings of having won the presidential election two years earlier, and

Because they think “their” president handled everything.

So… they stay home and don’t vote.

Meanwhile, the other party is all giddy about losing the presidency and goes out and die-votes mid-term.

2. In 2022 everything was different.

This time the party opposite the incumbent president (Biden) was fresh from an attempt to overthrow the US government and install a fiery lunatic (Trump) as America’s first dictator.

This time the party faced the president had just questioned what half the population thought was their constitutional right to abortion, and did so despite the fact that 2/3 of the American people vehemently objected, and

So, the party facing the president doubled down on the deepest sixth of half the population’s constitutional rights by attacking raped 12-year-olds and bulldozing their way through more abusive, degrading, woman-hating votes and lies than I can personally count without using a sheet of calculation.

The party facing the president decided it was a dandy time to ban books, attack Mickey Mouse (I’m not kidding), and invite a Putin-loving foreign fascist head of state to their biggest fundraising event.

They also spoke in favor of Putin over our own wartime American president and boasted relentlessly of the revenge they would take on the president and the American people as soon as they won Congress.

They publicly announced that they would wipe out Social Security and health care, raise taxes on the poor, and give more of our tax money to the billionaires who fund and essentially own their party.

They said America should become a Christo-fascist nation, kind of like the Taliban or the imaginary Gilead, and to put the icing on the cake, they said as soon as they take power, they’ll impeach the president in office, not for any reason, but just, you know, because they don’t care about this country and they thought they’d have the votes to do it.

The result of all this hate was a Democratic rank that almost had it.

Contrary to political jargon, ordinary people weren’t “excited” about the midterms. What I felt, and because I knew it was going to be a close election, was and is deadly serious anger from people who don’t get angry that often or that easily.

All the madmen have been screaming and screeching and foaming at the mouth for years as they pound the ground with sticks and get away with it. Their problem is that they have been too successful. They’re getting what they want, shifting their destruction from the realm of “they’ll never, not really” to “those crazy bitches are actually doing That.”

Whore republican preachers, priests and bishops, along with the raving half-crazy in the pews are successfully kicking sane people out of their own churches. More and more devout Christians are giving up their Christian community because they can no longer bear the vicious political heresy. I know this because some of them started gravitating to me due to my outspoken opposition to turning Christianity into a vote-getting machine for Nazi Americans.

Sane Americans watched as screaming crazy jobs destroyed the schools their children go to, lowering the quality of education, and terrorizing teachers into leaving the profession rather than face continued abuse. They sat in silence as a billionaire-owned Republican Party and their prostitute clergy deprived them of job security, living wages and pensions.

They have stood still for 50 years of organized destruction.

So it should come as no surprise that the media-crazed Republican Party has missed the fact that regular people’s big sleeping bear is waking up and…get ready for it…their anger is revving up.

I knew the elections would be close. I was very disgusted by the constant misreporting of reality as I knew it in the press in claims that there was going to be a “red wave / red tsunami / red hurricane”. But I’m not a seer and there was a lot I was missing.

For example, I was totally baffled when the election took place and it became clear that the talking heads who had been publicizing this crap actually believed their own talk. I never thought they meant it. It was so blatantly wrong that I could see it from my living room here in the red state of Oklahoma. I had thought they were lying to try and depress the Democratic vote.

But it turns out these jack crackers really thought the Rs would run the board. I am a total stranger to the world of the very successful national speaking sphere. But this looks from the outside like a group of people who get all their thinking from talking to each other. They are locked up in their own little world which they mistake for the real world.

However it happened, the polls were as FUBAR as the reports. This is… I don’t know… the 3rdrd or 4th national elections?? …that the boys and girls of the polling industry have lost by a mile in the countryside. It’s pretty obvious how they missed this one. I will list the ways they did it.

1. They questioned the wrong people. They were polling “probable” voters, which means they lost a whole world of crazy young men and women.

2. Women lied to them about what mattered to them. The fear of being killed or hunted down like animals by abortion laws has driven the female vote insane. The short way to describe it is to say that abortion drove their vote. But that somehow misses the point.

Women are afraid. And they are angry. But whole groups of them won’t admit it or even say it out loud. Women religious, especially Catholic and conservative Christian women like Southern Baptists, will not admit to anyone that they will be voting for the pick.

The reason is simple. They want to be able to remain in their faith communities, and if they expressed their fear – terror is often more like it – of what toppling Roe means to them, their daughters and granddaughters, they would be attacked, shunned and even kicked by the their church houses.

They don’t want to die or see their daughters die at the hands of Republican politicians. They don’t want to be locked into the pre-Roe box of terror, abuse, and punishment that all of us of a certain age remember so well. But they’re too intimidated by their domineering clergy and the half-crazed bullies who dominate their churches to say it aloud.

Then, they answer questions and keep their little mouths shut. And then, when they are alone with the secret ballot confessional, they vote what they really feel.

Polls cannot be accurate when so much of the electoral universe is afraid to tell the truth about what they think and what they plan to do.

Polls lacked what women would do, even if anyone with a brain could see that train pulling off the tracks. The polls totally ignored young voters — and vehemently pro-choice young women voting — for the simple reason that they didn’t bother polling them at all.

So the polls were, as they have customarily become, FUBAR. The talking heads evidently know nothing except what they are saying.

It was a close election, and always was going to be a close election, because the Democrats came out to vote. no one, except, obviously, someone who was paying attention to what real people were saying could see that.
