The Council of Europe project on “Support to media pluralism and freedom of expression in the Republic of Moldova” aims to strengthen media pluralism, the regulatory framework in the audiovisual field and access to information and ensure Independent and professional public broadcaster committed to neutrality – essential pillars to realize the country’s democratic reform agenda. In this regard, the project is working on the improvement of the existing legal framework related to freedom of expression and media pluralism in the Republic of Moldova, better implementation of the Audiovisual Media Services Code, assistance to the national public broadcaster in improvement of their editorial policies, diversification of its contents; and improving the existing legal framework regarding access to information.

As project assistant:

  • assist in the day-to-day implementation, preparation, organization and follow-up of project activities, completing all necessary arrangements in advance and in a timely manner;
  • ensure administrative and financial assistance and organizational support for the implementation of the project;
  • provide for the practical and logistical organization of meetings, official trips and other events;
  • follow up on all administrative files and financial arrangements related to these events;
  • organize the travel, visa and accommodation according to the needs of the project; arrange for the reimbursement of travel and subsistence expenses;
  • process purchase orders for a variety of contractual and administrative arrangements;
  • process and draft correspondence, memos, documents, presentations and assist in the preparation of reports;
  • re-read and correct linguistic and grammatical errors in texts and documents; translate documents and texts related to the project activities from/to English; check translations; organize the production, distribution and publication of documents in print or online;
  • receive, review and send incoming correspondence, e-mails, etc.;
  • ensure the circulation of relevant information and documents within the Office;
  • record, maintain and update a variety of data (files, documents, statistics, databases, websites, information and documentation tools, etc.);
  • work closely with other internal and/or external counterparts to ensure coordination of project activities;
  • report to the supervisor on the activities in progress and report any problems encountered;
  • contribute to the efficient functioning of the Office, in cooperation with the Head of the Office, the Deputy Head of the Office and the project management;
  • perform other tasks that may be required in connection with the implementation of the project;
  • promote the values ​​of the Council of Europe internally and externally.

At a minimum, you must:

  • have a completed full course of general secondary education, followed by a post-secondary qualification corresponding to a minimum of two years of study;
  • have at least two years of relevant professional experience related to administrative tasks (in public or private sector) or project implementation support tasks or similar tasks carried out in private/public companies;
  • have an excellent knowledge of Romanian (native level) and an excellent knowledge of one of the two official languages ​​of the Council of Europe (English or French);
  • be a citizen of one of the 46 member states of the Council of Europe;
  • be under the age of 65 at the closing date of this vacancy notice.
